The mission of the Hunter Family Foundation is to improve lives in a long-term and sustainable way by supporting education, healthcare, economic development and the environment in communities where members of the Hunter family live, work, and have philanthropic interests.

To achieve this we have chosen the following focus areas:

  • Early childhood and youth education (Pre-K-12), including literacy, arts-in-education, and special needs with an emphasis on skill-building and mentorship for at-risk youth

  • Children’s and women’s healthcare, mental health services, nurses’ training, public health and disease-specific health research

  • Economic development via career training and affordable housing

  • Land and habitat preservation, environmental education, and clean water protection in the United States

Our shared values are:

  • Responsibility to ourselves, our communities, and our environment

  • Integrity and compassion

  • Belief in a strong work ethic

  • Effort and volunteerism in a hands-on capacity

Our vision is to:

  • Enhance and support the communities in which we live, work and have special interests through personal involvement, skill-sharing and monetary contributions

  • Be a valued partner and thought-leader in building more sustainable and prosperous communities

  • Honor our founders and continue their legacy through engagement of future generations of family members
